Snipping tool:
The Snipping Tool is a built-in screen-capturing tool in Windows. It is used to take screenshots (also called snips) of any part of the screen.
Uses of Snipping Tool:
- To capture the full screen or part of the screen
- To take screenshots of error messages or important information
- To save pictures from documents or web pages
- To highlight something using a pen or highlighter tool
Open Snipping Tool:
- Click on the Start Menu.
- Type Snipping Tool in the search box.
- Click on the Snipping Tool app to open it.
Types of Snips:
- Free-form Snip – Draw a shape around what you want to capture
- Rectangular Snip – Select a rectangular area
- Window Snip – Capture a specific window
- Full-screen Snip – Capture the entire screen
Note: In PC’s, we use the Free-from Snip tool.
Way of a Screenshot:
- Open Snipping Tool.
- Click “New” and select the type of snip.
- Drag your mouse to capture the area.
- After capturing, you can draw, highlight, or save the snip.
Saving and Sharing:
- Click on File > Save As to save the screenshot.
- You can also copy and paste the snip in MS Word, Paint, or Email.
